The simple rapid baseline survey conducted by Combined efforts to save Uganda (CESA-Uganda), formerly known as Maganjo Farmers Association (MAFA) among schools in Luweero District, indicated that 85% of the schools in Luweero District have poor access to clean and safe water i.e. children walk long distances like 4kms to look for water which is not even clean, have poor hygiene and sanitation due to lack of good toilets and knowledge in hygiene and in addition, the school children have poor nutrition diets leading to both nutritional and sanitation  related diseases like diarrhea, dysentery, worm infection, malaria and kwashiorkor, hence affecting their health and school performance.
